A note to comenters

Here's a tip about putting comments on this blog.

I am not going to tolerate any personal attack on anyone, least of all myself. I don't need to hear your assign drivel about what you (who usualy have sucking writign styles) think of my writing. you can put it where the sun doesn't shine.

I also will not tolerate any sort of insulting words dealing with belief. It's perfectly intellectually defenseless to believe in God. in fact it's down right idiotic no to believe. So if you can't be polite about people's faith you will not get your comments read here.

Atheism is a little cult that has no cultural capital. It doesn't deserve any. You are 3% of the populartion, we are 90%. It's stupid and totally arrogant to think that you are some elite intelligence when most of you have never read a book in your lives, and abhor thinking are scared to death of ideas and have no idea what religions talk about.

If you want to comment here you must:

(1) politely recognize differnce in views and not make insulting comments about God being imaginary.

(2) Not make personal attacks on anyone, least of all me

(3) say something interesting and intelligent not just some crap like "you can't write and or spell"

I do not publish atheist hate mail

Atheism is a silly word, much like non-astrologer. All children are born without belief in a particular deity, or that some 'entity' 'created' the universe, they just approach it with curiosity, and accept that there are things they don't know.

Ego and arrogance create God.

You have chosen the "astrological" position. Not believing in God doesn't need cultural capital any more than quantum mechanics or mathematics need cultural capital; it is a philosophical position, the outcome of asking the right kinds of questions.

You aren't saying anything of substance, and if you are broadcasting your thoughts on the internet, prepare to have them challenged.

you are seeking to privilege your position without earning anything. what you say is wrong. We know now that we are born with innate concepts of God. Scietnific fact. see Newberg, see Ramachandrin

Ego and arrogance create God.

o yea 90% are so arrogant only the 3% who long to be thought of as superior and humble.

Not believing in God is a pathological state. It contradicts the basic human experience of the vast majority of people. you don't get to privilege your position based upon nothing but a snide a attitude.

You aren't saying anything of substance, and if you are broadcasting your thoughts on the internet, prepare to have them challenged.

you can't argue agaisnt my God arguments. you can't answer them and I have a feeling you aren't even willing to try.

Logic privileges belief in God because it's more rational than unbelief.

"that's the word they use"

This is what is usually said when someone addresses a culture and not an argument.

Let's cut the B.S.

What evidence do you have that a deity or God exists?

Why I believe what I do: I see no reason why the personal emotional experience of a hairless upright walking ape (which includes myself) has anything to do with how the Universe came to be, especially if the empirical evidence points to complexity stemming from simplicity.

Which is more arrogant - believing that most humans might be wrong about something, or believing that the personal experiences of our species have anything to do with THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE? I think you'll find that the proportion of arrogance involved in the latter to be a bit more striking...

The fact that most people believe in God is no more to the point than the fact that most people at one point believed the Earth was flat and that clouds could get angry. We have only recently had the evidence to suggest an alternative to God, and the fact that the number of non-believers is growing means the ignorance of the evidence is shrinking.

One day, we'll shake off this supersition like a bad dream. Perhaps you find that threatening?

A couple more thoughts that you don't have the integrity to allow on your blog:

1) If don't like to have your world view mocked and ridiculed, you should check yourself before you do it to someone else. You know, The Golden Rule? Religious people supposedly invented it.

2)Atheism is not an ideology. It is a rejection of ALL supernatural claims. Take off your persecution hat. We are equal opportunity atheists. We disbelieve in Jesus and Allah and the tooth fairy, and sadly, the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus equally.

3)You religious people are always complaining about how rude and coarse atheists are. There is a saying that my dad taught me: It takes two pigs to fight in the mud, if you don't like the mud, don't fight in it.

"I also will not tolerate any sort of insulting words dealing with belief. It's perfectly intellectually defenseless to believe in God. in fact it's down right idiotic no to believe. So if you can't be polite about people's faith you will not get your comments read here."

This passage is my favorite, because you are slamming and ridiculing and being insulting to non believers in every post, and you want us to respond to that with kindness and love? Again, I think you need to check yourself, because I see no more reason to respect your faith than you do to respect my lack of it.

You are totally right by the way; it IS perfectly intellectually DEFENSELESS to believe in god! Lol!

One last thing: I know that you don't have the integrity to open this blog for an honest, uncensored debate, but from the content of my previous comment, and the content of your last post I can only say: I won! I won! I won!

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! I am laughing as you are getting your panties in a wad and your blood pressure is rising!

If you were truly on the side of right, with no doubt in your mind, my insignificant comments would not affect you in any way, much less cause you to pout in public. Think about it. You are proving my points for me by getting upset.

France is not the world. Saying that 90% of world population believes in God is not to say that 90% of every nation does.

I got it from adherents.com

42 arguments I've been working on for 10 years.

here

Why I believe what I do: I see no reason why the personal emotional experience of a hairless upright walking ape (which includes myself) has anything to do with how the Universe came to be, especially if the empirical evidence points to complexity stemming from simplicity.

because God created consciousness so we could know him. He wants to us to know him.

Which is more arrogant - believing that most humans might be wrong about something, or believing that the personal experiences of our species have anything to do with THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE? I think you'll find that the proportion of arrogance involved in the latter to be a bit more striking...

that is so utterly stupid. if you just think about it you will see that actually yous is the arrogant position. Because what you are really saying is that you don't have to live by God's rules. What I"m saying is love is universal and God loves us and cares about us. You spit in his face and despise him for loving you.

The fact that most people believe in God is no more to the point than the fact that most people at one point believed the Earth was flat and that clouds could get angry. We have only recently had the evidence to suggest an alternative to God, and the fact that the number of non-believers is growing means the ignorance of the evidence is shrinking.

there is no evidence of an alternative to God. There is no proof the universe popped out of nothing, evolution is not counter to Belief in God evolution does not do didle shit to God.

you are not even well read. what are you a truck driver? you are just a rebel. atheism used to intelligentsia on college did you finnish high school?

One day, we'll shake off this supersition like a bad dream. Perhaps you find that threatening?

you are not a thinker. you are not well read, you are not using your mind. you are uneducated and full of shit. you don't even know what superstition is. you are the kind of idiot that says atheism is not ideology then you turn around and spout slogans becuase you don't even what the word means.

saying that religion is superstition is nothing more than ignorant cliched twaddle.

this is self defense. you little brainwashed thugs are attacking us, we have to begin to take care of ourselves. no more little nice Christian door mat. you put it on this level. you are the ones' who drove me to this. you want to keep bullying, trying to mock and ridicule, come on I cna ridicule you back. I'm pretty good at it. just keep it up.

2)Atheism is not an ideology. It is a rejection of ALL supernatural claims. Take off your persecution hat. We are equal opportunity atheists. We disbelieve in Jesus and Allah and the tooth fairy, and sadly, the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus equally.

you say it's not an ideology as you spout the very same slogans they all spout, marching in lock step afraid to breath a single thought the others don't sanction.

3)You religious people are always complaining about how rude and coarse atheists are. There is a saying that my dad taught me: It takes two pigs to fight in the mud, if you don't like the mud, don't fight in it.

here's a little saying my Dad thought up when a gang of crooks attacked him and he kicked their asses, "if you try again I'll mop the floor with you." Understand?

"I also will not tolerate any sort of insulting words dealing with belief. It's perfectly intellectually defenseless to believe in God. in fact it's down right idiotic no to believe. So if you can't be polite about people's faith you will not get your comments read here."

but you are an ignorant butt hole who doesn't show shit about thinking. So you wouldn't know what's a good idea and what isn't. I know more thanyou do I know it's totally defensable to believe in God. what's not defensiable is th arrotnt bullying ilttle asshole games taht atheist play in theri brain washed state.

if you follow the examples I've given I have shown atheists who are total absolute Nazis trying to destroy free thought. Of course I know you will never understand that because you are a brain washed lackey.

if you keep attacking me I will mop the floor with you. do you hear? If want this not to continue stop being a little bully thug.

since you are an atheist you probably just got through cyre mugging some poor christian little old lady just today. youa re a ruthless thug and you nor disproving that by this. I am defending myself and I will defend myself always. got it?

how many Christians did you hurt today? your a big man aren't you?

You are totally right by the way; it IS perfectly intellectually DEFENSELESS to believe in god! Lol!

I'm sure an illiterate like you would think so. but hen you don't know anything so who cares?

One last thing: I know that you don't have the integrity to open this blog for an honest, uncensored debate, but from the content of my previous comment, and the content of your last post I can only say: I won! I won! I won!

honest and unceretned? what Have ai censered? what is missin here? What' ein gleft out is "you aer bad, you are a bad person you can't spell and you did'nt go to school you are bab bad bad.

o that' such a crucial dimension. I'm so unfair to not let you mock and ridicule me aren't I? I'm shutting down free speech there hu? well tough shit man live with it; or you could just stop reading the blog stoups!

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! I am laughing as you are getting your panties in a wad and your blood pressure is rising!

are you sure you did piss in your little pink dress?

how did this get on here if I"m so unfair? all that's missing the personal insult to me. So what you are really saying is since I"m depriving you of your rush that you get from hurting religious people (how many have you hurt today?) then I'm not on the side of right?

you are demented.

can't take your medicine can you? you hurt religious people day, you need to hurt them, you t thrive on hurting them. I don't feel sorry for you. why should I should respect bigots? why should I respect hate groups?

why should I respect fascists?

We know now that we are born with innate concepts of God. Scietnific fact. see Newberg, see Ramachandrin

Is this Vilayanur Ramachandran that you are talking about? He seems to think that mystical experiences are a kind of hallucination, rather than a perception of some supposed superbeing that rules the Universe.

Not believing in God is a pathological state.

No more than disbelieving in the efficacy of sorcery is. Aren't you afraid that someone will cast a hex on you?

It contradicts the basic human experience of the vast majority of people. you don't get to privilege your position based upon nothing but a snide a attitude.

Metacrock, I have some bad news for you. The large majority of people have not believed in your god. Instead, they've believed in "big man in the sky" sorts of gods, and often more than one of them.

(What evidence do you have that a deity or God exists?)

42 arguments I've been working on for 10 years.

Metacrock, it's really hard for me to keep score. Are those proofs or warrants for belief in a god whose existence cannot be proved?

And would you want me to link you to refutations of those arguments?

because God created consciousness so we could know him. He wants to us to know him.

That alleged entity is not trying very hard with me, and you are implying that that alleged entity is something like a big man in the sky.

Because what you are really saying is that you don't have to live by God's rules.

How did you figure that out? I find no such implication.

What I"m saying is love is universal and God loves us and cares about us. You spit in his face and despise him for loving you.

Do you hate Zeus or Odin or Brahma or all the other gods you don't believe in?

there is no evidence of an alternative to God. There is no proof the universe popped out of nothing,

Why do you think that the only possible alternatives are (1) your god and (2) popping out of nothing?

I can think of oodles of alternatives, like our Universe being a lab experiment in a super-Universe, our Universe being eternal, and our Universe being a bubble in some multiverse.

this is self defense. you little brainwashed thugs are attacking us, we have to begin to take care of ourselves. no more little nice Christian door mat.

Jesus Christ taught that we ought to love our enemies, not hate them.
